Excellent on a sesame seed bagel. I also added VeganEgg to breakfast polenta, a savory center for waffles, and vegetable stir fry. The creators definitely did their homework when it came down to the science of how eggs operate. Still, the major woe of this review tale is that for 12 servings this product is $7.65. Take that what you will. It might be easier to go traditional vegan tofu scramble route with some added turmeric and nutritional yeast if budget is your concern as it is mine. I will buy VeganEgg sparsely in the future. It's a yummy, authentic product-- one amazing step for vegan humankind, but at the same time, pricing could be a little more reasonable. |
I saw the vegan egg at Natural Grocers, but the price turned me off. Maybe someday when I have a little extra, or if the price comes down. It does look amazing though.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how delicious the Kite Hill raviolis are. Every Kite Hill product I've tried has been out of this world. But they're definitely a splurge. I haven't seen the ravioli yet. The picture is making me drool! And the Gardein meatballs and angel hair are making me crave pasta so hard!! I don't think I've tried their meatballs yet, but now I know I have too!
Yes. The pricing is a major factor when it comes to buying vegan products nowadays-- especially the special high end stuff. But these are not absolute necessities despite how good. A delicious hearty tofu scramble goes a long way. Kite Hill is an amazing company (very, very creative) and gardein continues to astound me. :)
DeleteI only paid 99 cents for the Vegan Egg at a health food store because it was sitting on the reduced shelf.
